Who is the data controller?
Sille Schnoor Nielsen is the data controller for the information you provide via silleschnoor.dk. You can always write to kontakt@silleschnoor.dk.
What we store and why
When you write via the contact form
Name, email, subject and your message. We use it exclusively to respond to you. The basis is our mutual interest in being able to communicate (Article 6(1)(f) of the General Data Protection Regulation).
The message will remain as long as it is relevant to the conversation it belongs to, and then it will be cleared. If you are just writing to ask something, there is nothing more to it.
When you create a casting profile
Name, email, phone, city, date of birth, playing age, height, agency, showreel link, a free text description, the photos you upload yourself, and the categories you choose: gender, profession, language, eye color, hair color, and hair length. We also store when you gave consent and exactly what text you agreed to.
We store the date of birth and not an age number because a number is correct on the day it is written and incorrect the following year. The age is calculated each time it is displayed.
We never ask for your social security number or payment information. If you are asked for it by someone pretending to be Sille or casting on her behalf, it is a scam — and we would love to hear about it.
The basis is your consent (Article 6(1)(a)). The purpose is to find actors for productions.
Playable ethnicity
The field is optional, and it says so on the field. If you leave it blank, we store nothing about your ethnicity — the profile works just as well.
If you fill it in, it is information about ethnic origin and thus a special category according to Article 9. The very act of filling in a voluntary field is your express consent (Article 9, paragraph 2, letter a), and this is stated verbatim in the consent you tick. We save when you filled it in. If you clear the field again under My profile, the consent is withdrawn and we delete the information immediately.
If you are under 18
Then a parent or guardian must approve the profile. We ask for their name and email and write to them. The profile remains as a draft and is not searchable until they have confirmed. If you are under 13, you cannot create a profile yourself — an adult must do this for you.
If the profile is created by a guardian on behalf of a child, the account belongs to the guardian. The guardian's email and telephone number are listed as contact information, and it is the guardian that casters write to. We do not store the child's own contact information. How we look after children's profiles is stated in the terms and conditions.
Technical
We store your IP address briefly to limit spam creation (maximum one hour). If you type your city, we send what you type to Google Places to suggest city names — see Google's own privacy policy. Google is American, so this information may be processed outside the EU; this is done under the EU Commission's standard contractual clauses. Everything else stays on our server in Denmark. The site uses cookies; it is handled by the cookie banner.
Who sees your profile?
- Sille and the casters she has approved can view and search the profiles — including contact information. That's the whole purpose of a casting database.
- A specific production team can get a private link to a selection of profiles. This view does not require login, but does not show email or phone, and the link can be closed again.
- Data processors: our hosting provider (operating the server and database) and our email provider (sending messages). They only process data on our instructions.
We do not sell your information and do not use it for marketing.
How long
Your profile will remain until you delete it or withdraw your consent. We also review the database once a year and delete profiles that have not been used or updated for three years, after first writing to you.
The three years are chosen intentionally. A casting profile is not a job application that becomes obsolete after six months — it describes who you are and continues to be useful as long as it is relevant. The Danish Data Protection Authority accepts up to three years for information from a recruitment process when the period is objectively justified, and longer does not make sense for a profile that no one has touched. If you think that is too long, just delete the profile sooner — it takes one click.
If you withdraw your consent, we will delete it immediately. However, we will keep a brief note stating that consent was given and withdrawn, and when. This is the only way we can document that we did the right thing.
Your rights
You can at any time gain access to your information, have it corrected, have it deleted, have processing restricted, object, and have your data provided in a common format.
You can do most of it yourself: you can correct your profile under My profile, you can withdraw consent in the same place, and you can delete the entire profile with one click. The rest you can write to kontakt@silleschnoor.dk about.
Withdrawing consent does not affect the legality of what happened while the consent was in effect.
Complaint
If you are dissatisfied with how we process your information, you can complain to the Danish Data Protection Authority, Carl Jacobsens Vej 35, 2500 Valby — datatilsynet.dk.
